INK – An ai music video inspired by a dream I had
I’ve been feeling really stunted creatively lately.
I played around with the new Ray2 model from LumaLabs this past week.
It’s all been so frustrating because I'm not fully fleshing out a creative vision—it all feels like a total waste of time. So, I decided to go back to a video I started last July that really stuck in my mind.

The song and music video is called, "INK."
...You can watch it & add it to your music playlist on YouTube here…
The imagery was inspired by a vivid dream—almost a night terror—where I woke up with the word “ink” screaming in my head.
This happened during a tough emotional period, so the visuals show black ink spreading across a white background, retracting, and reaching out in random ways. Sometimes it’s fast, sometimes it’s slow, sometimes it’s strangely beautiful.
It represents sadness taking over, fading away, and then coming back, mirroring the emotional journey I was in at the time.
To create the song, I used the Suno 3.5 model.
…You can listen to the full version of the song on Suno here…
I made it back in July, and I really love how it originally sounded. I did experiment with the newer Suno model by Remastering a few times, but it never got quite what I was looking for sound-wise.
So, the music video features a shortened version, and the full version is available on Suno for anyone who wants to listen or add it to their playlists.
For the visuals, I used Luma Dream Machine.
Specifically, the old version of Dream Machine from July 2024.
Since I started experimenting with the new Ray2 model, I’ve been getting frustrated because I can’t completely flesh out my ideas... it’s not clicking.
When I tried generating new imagery with the different models that are available here now, in January 2025, the style wasn’t matching up, even with the exact same prompting.
In the end, I stuck with all the imagery I created back in July 2024, and the original song from the same time as well. It just felt right for this piece.
None of the newer tools were giving me what I needed, sometimes you’ve just got to trust your original vision!
So that’s the story behind “INK.”
This piece after it’s been on my mind for months, let me know what you think. The frustrations I had with these new AI models, pointed out that old tools visions may be exactly what we need.
I only wish they are still available to use today.
If the video, song, or the creative process resonates with you at all, please like/share/bookmark/reply. It's always appreciated and thank you for your support!
