It’s so wonderful to share the photos from this session, photographed in the summer of 2023. Addison wanted a picture for the album cover to stand out and showcase his work as a solo artist.

Brief:

He needed an image for an album cover for his solo album. For this, I had to consider room for text and his style.

Addison requested a vibe similar to artists that inspire him like Bruce Springsteen. He was really drawn to black-and-white images on a white backdrop.

Solutions:

I rented a variety of gear from LenRentals including a backdrop, Profoto strobe, and a large octabox.

I found a space that we could work in and the photoshoot took about an hour. We got many outtakes and a few amazing images, including the cover shot!

Details:

Addison is a singer-songwriter and talented guitarist. His latest album “Better Soon” was released May 3, 2024 and contains 10 original songs.

Gear I Rented from LensRentals:

  • Profoto D1 500Ws Air Monolight

  • Profoto Air Remote TTL-N Transmitter for Nikon

  • Matthews Mini Boom (45-80-inch)

  • Westcott X-Drop 8ft x 8ft High-Key White Pro Kit

  • Westcott Rapid Box Switch 48-inch Octa-L for Profoto

Follow Addison on Instagram and download his album to support local New England music!

There was also plenty of drama when we found out just a few days before the album release show that the venue had permanently closed! Luckily, another venue was found and the concert was only delayed by one day.

More From the Photoshoot

One of my personal favorite images from the session. The photograph not used for the album cover at perfect for Addison’s social media posts and promotional marketing.
