It may feel like Spring, but ski season is still on!

Enjoy this throwback skiwear spec ad campaign I created for Jantzen. This was inspired by their vintage ski poster print advertising and animated with AI apps included Luma Labs, Hume AI, and more.

Binder, Joseph, Artist. Jantzen / Binder. , 1947. Photograph. https://www.loc.gov/item/98518370/.

The whole ad campaign idea was inspired by the original vintage Jantzen ski posters sourced from the Library of Congress!

Within the video, I used three of these retro posters, the rest are AI-generated with Midjourney to fit the same style.

I used Midjourney Moodboards to help me generate new ski poster designs, matching the style of the original authentic lithograph posters but with my own art direction.

Luma Labs Dream Machine animates the still images and ads sound effects with AI.

Using Luma Labs Dream Machine, the Ray2 and Flash models, I animated these visuals to bring the artwork to life (and added the sound effects!)

I love how Luma added dynamic movement and included the sounds to capture the excitement of skiing.

With Hume AI, I created a classic broadcaster-style voiceover to narrate the video. I was inspired by vintage winter sports announcers from the 1960s.

With the Acting Instructions feature & custom Voice Design available in their playground right now, this was so much fun!

The nostalgic, background music was made with Udio.

The vibrant track set the perfect mood, adding another dimension to the atmosphere of the clips.

Once I heard it, I knew it would transport the viewers of the video back in time.

The editing and producing was done in Adobe Premiere Pro, to complete the final video as you see it above.

This included sequencing the animations as well as layering the voiceover, sound effects, and music together for the final piece. Transitions, fades, and overlays, oh my!

Watch the full video again and let me know in the comments which brand I should do a throwback ad campaign for next!
