✂ ETSY RANT 🎨

I just watched a CNBC report on Etsy and I had to share my reaction. You can check out the video yourself here.

It’s a dive into how Etsy's been on a downward trajectory since their peak in 2021. The graphs they showed were pretty alarming.

In My Opinion…

Etsy's main problem boils down to terrible customer service.

And I don't mean the chat support 🙄

Real customer service starts way before anyone thinks about contacting customer support. It’s about making everything just, I dunno, work!

🧶 Search Functionality: Make sure the search results show people exactly what they're looking for from the most reputable shops. Sprinkle in new shops too!

🪡 Make it Easy to Spend Money: Simplify the process for customers. If they need to upload a picture for a personalized item, there should be a clear, easy way to do that.

👜 Checkout Page: It’s currently a disaster zone. For example, how about a single place for coupon codes instead of 1,000?

As a seller, I am Etsy's customer too. It should be easy for me to use the platform and connect with my ideal customers. (And I make and YOU, ETSY, make money in the process!)

Also, why isn’t Etsy's mission focused on helping every shop grow a little each year? It would benefit literally everyone.

I know these might seem like wild and crazy ideas coming from a random person on the internet.

Please wake up, Etsy! You’re missing out on most basic, critical element of selling.
